Feb. 10, Tuesday, Northdale Workshop Open Dance Practice

Hi everyone,


As I mentioned in class, we’ll be having a special practice session this Tuesday, February 10, for dances that will be open‑danced at the February 28 Hillsborough Line Dance Celebration Workshop here at Northdale. We’ll meet from 10:30am to 12:30pm.


This practice is open to Northdale dancers who are registered for the 2/28 workshop, all levels.


I’ve attached the open dance playlist again for convenience. It includes almost three hours of music if played straight through, so to make sure we can cover as many dances as possible, we won’t be dancing each song in full. I’ll play enough of each track to get us through at least one full rotation (four walls) or past tags or restarts, and then we’ll move on.


We’ll go in the order of the playlist. The level for each dance is listed there as well, so you can easily see which ones were taught in your class. Dances marked “beginner” may have been taught in either the Beginner 1 or Beginner 2 class.


There won’t be instruction or reviews during this session. During the past month I have been reviewing most of the dances in each of the appropriate class. Therefore we’ll simply dance and enjoy the practice time together.

February 2026 Activities

Monday 2/9 - Beginner 1 & Beginner 2 classes - Regular class schedule. You will have a substitute instructor - Carolyn Robinson. She knows the dances we have been doing and I suspect she will do many of them.


Monday 2/9 - For those going to the Niels Poulsen workshop in the Vilages -

Location: SeaBreeze Regional Center – The Ponte Vedra Room 2384 Buena Vista Blvd. The Villages, FL 32162 Time: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM - Doors open at 12:30 PM.

  • for those riding with me, we will depart from Publix parking lot (Lutz Lake Fern & Dale Mabry) at 10:30am. Driving time should be approximately 1 hr 30 minutes. I allowed an additional 30 minutes for a pit stop.


Tuesday 2/10 - 10:30 - practice dances that are on the playlist for the February 28 workshop. This is for people that are planning to attend the workshop and would like a little extra practice. I will try to play all the music on the open dance playlist.


Monday - 2/16 - President's Day - Northdale is open and we will have regular class schedule.


Friday - 2/27 - We will decorate the building for the 2/28 workshop. I would appreciate volunteers to help. We will be in the big gym starting at 12:30pm. Decorations should take a couple of hours.


Saturday - 2/28 - Hillsborough County Line Dance Celebration Workshop - We would appreciate 4 volunteers to assist during check in 8:30am - 9:10am.
